Peer Review Policy

Articles submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal for evaluation. If it is determined that a manuscript has been submitted to more than one journal at the same time, the evaluation and publication processes in KUJSS will be terminated.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal are first reviewed by the Secretariat in terms of compliance with publication and writing rules. Following this preliminary review, the manuscript is forwarded to the Editor-in-Chief for the appointment of a field editor. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s publication and writing principles are returned to the authors.

Articles submitted to KUJSS are formally examined by the editor and field editors (editorial board), who are responsible for overseeing all stages of the process, in terms of publication policy and journal standards. Manuscripts deemed suitable are then sent to expert reviewers in the relevant field.

When necessary, manuscripts may be returned to the authors for revision in accordance with the comments, criticisms, and recommendations provided by the reviewers.

Each manuscript approved for evaluation by the field editor is assigned to two reviewers. If one reviewer provides a positive report and the other provides a negative report, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer, and the final decision is made in accordance with the third review report.

Authors are expected to revise and resubmit their manuscripts by taking into account the corrections and recommendations specified in the reviewer evaluation forms.

The final publication decision is made by the editors based on the reviewers’ evaluations. Manuscripts accepted for publication are sent to the author(s) for final proofreading and review.

KUJSS employs a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout every stage of the process.
